MOBILE-FRIENDLY MAKEOVER FOR BTB PENSIONS WEBSITE

Wordshop has completed a project to upgrade the existing pensions website for the British Tourist Boards (BTB) Staff Pension & Life Assurance Scheme, so that members can view information on whatever device they choose – be it a mobile phone, tablet or computer.

The website was built by Wordshop five years ago, before the explosion of smartphones and tablets.

The move to responsive design was approved by the Trustees in March and visuals were quickly produced, before the new site build commenced in May. All areas of the website were reviewed at the same time, to make sure the content is up to date.

Giles Powell-Smith, Wordshop’s managing director, says: ‘Four out of five internet users go online using their mobile phones, so it was critical that the website was upgraded to be responsive.

‘Websites tend to have three-year lifecycles, so we would recommend that any client whose website is older than that should review it to see what new functionality it needs, to make sure it delivers everything the users expect.’
